San Diego 2019 Keep Kids Safe Kickoff
Educating families about the safe use, storage and disposal of prescription medications.
Educating families about the safe use, storage and disposal of prescription medications.
On April 6, 2019, the Safe Homes Coalition partnered with San Diego County Supervisor Kristin Gaspar, San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore, the Greater San Diego Association of REALTORS®, American Medical Response (AMR) and others to kickoff the Keep Kids Safe Program.
More than 150 real estate professionals showed up for the kickoff event that was hosted at the Waterfront Park in Downtown San Diego. After hearing stories of the importance of this project, the volunteers gathered materials and went door-to-door around the county explaining how leaving unused prescription medications in their home can get into the wrong hands. They provided pre-paid, pre-addressed envelopes in which San Diegans can place unwanted prescriptions that will be shipped to a facility and incinerated.
